Repair storm sign (end III)

With the "wing" (we call it an "end"), which always "hangs down", we noticed rot in the upper part of the lower wind board (the storm board). The function of this removable board is that by removing it you can still turn in strong winds. Before removing this board, sail has already been lowered and even turned without sails. If the blades (the blades) are still turning too fast, you will remove the storm boards. For our mill, which is far from the coast, this situation rarely occurs. When? Think of a storm that passes straight over the land. Turning/grinding is then completely out of the question. When a storm threatens the mill, the 4 storm signs are removed, so that those who flee catch less wind, a preventive safety measure.

The repair was carried out by ourselves by sawing off the rotten piece at an angle of 45 degrees. A new piece was glued on by means of a lip weld. The painting has not been photographed.
