Friend of the mill

Friends

You all know the mill “de Lelie” at the Leurs harbour. Together with the St. Peter's Church we determine the silhouette of the Leur. Our mill, the foundation of which was laid in 1801, was rebuilt between 1994 and 1998 into a grinding mill. In 2018, “de Lelie” became a municipal monument. The Mill “de Lelie” Foundation is happy with this. It is the last cultural-historical image-defining element that remains at the Leurs harbour.

We think it is important that you know the history and significance of the mill and realize that the mill is the face of Etten-Leur. Visitors to the mill can take a tour, schools are welcome.

What do we do with your contribution?

A mill is a valuable asset that must be properly maintained. Our “Lelie” is 25 years old and parts need to be replaced: the tail, which runs from the hood to the scaffolding, is starting to deteriorate, the jointing of the brick hull leaves much to be desired, which can cause moisture problems in the mill. arise, this year the mill has to be painted again, etc. etc. And then there is always that unforeseen item.

We cannot achieve this by selling mill products. Sponsorship remains necessary. We sincerely hope that you will support us on a long-term basis in order to preserve the mill for Etten-Leur for the long term. We thank you in advance for this.
